When Owning a Mistake Matters

Seems like several companies had some fumbles last week... Even I realized I had made a small mistake. I could just delete it and move on — but instead, I’ll use it as an opportunity.
I posted a review from the wrong client, honestly it made the client sound like they weren’t authentically casting, and may have hurt their credibility. In order to correct that I have to acknowledge the mistake.

Mistakes vs. Missteps: Knowing the Difference

I believe that if we maintain our personal values, then it’s much easier to know the difference between an “honest mistake” a “calculated risk” or even an attempt to deceive your audience.

Learning to Step Up

I’ll be honest, from time to time I catch myself, not taking ownership of mistakes. Even when I may not have made the mistake, but ultimately it doesn’t matter who made the mistake it’s about catching it early and make it right to mitigate as much damage as possible. In past jobs, I often ended up as the “quality control” person in small teams. That experience taught me how important it is to take accountability quickly — not just to protect the work, but to build trust.

New Client Alert!

ICYMI, Had a wonderful opportunity to work with a new client last week on a fun project, creating a safety video for their lab tours. This may sound dull to most, but that's really the part I enjoy is taking something people generally associate as a boring snooze-fest and make it engaging and helpful!
