New Hack for Freeing up Storage, You’re Welcome
If you're about to go buy a new iPhone, wait til you try this first!
Thank me later.
Just about everyone I know (assuming you're an iPhone user) is running out of space. Sure mental space and physical space, but I want to actually give you a tip I just learned that is quick and easy to do a "reset" on your - you guessed it PHONE STORAGE.
This is my free gift to the world. Enjoy.
So under the gear icon (titled Settings), go to General > iPhone Storage. Here you'll see all the culprits taking up your precious cargo making your life difficult to navigate and document. Sure you could go into large attachments and downloaded media that's taking up extra space but if you scroll down, and look a bit more in depth, you'll see the silent killer. Your APPS.
At the top of this screen there should be a color coded bar telling you XXX GB of XXX GB used, and giving you a bit more insight as to who is the big hitter. Maybe your photos/videos do take up the bulk of your daily user, but if you follow these easy steps you might be able to make it thru 2026 relatively unscathed.
The Quick Guide:
In the listed apps, make sure they are ordered by size. Pick the biggest one (regardless if you use it or not). Mine was YouTube.
Delete it. I know, this seems scary, but hold tight and trust me.
For safe measure, just go ahead and close all your apps that are open (not delete this time, you know swipe up all the windows to disappear.
Okay, NOW redownload the app. You can breathe now. Sure go ahead and sign back in. Of course if you don't need the app then just leave it off, is also an option.
Go check that iPhone Storage screen we were checking earlier. You're welcome. And Merry Christmas folks, love you all and thanks for reading!
New Project Release!
I recently got to work with a local production company on a PSA for anti-vaping and had the rare opportunity to play the on-camera principle as well as the voiceover for the spot. Check it out!
